Power quality analysis
The quality of electricity is a set of parameters describing the properties of the process of supplying energy to the user under normal operating conditions determining the continuity of supply (long and short interruptions in supply) and characterizing the supply voltage (value, asymmetry, frequency, shape of the time course). Electricity consumers require Manufacturers and Distributors that the energy supplied by them allows for proper operation of installed devices. To achieve this effect electricity should have appropriate parameters.
.
The quality of electricity is the highest when the supply voltage changes with a constant frequency has a sinusoidal shape of the time course and a constant value. This condition is difficult to reach among others due to the interaction of the Power System and energy receivers with different characteristics. Power quality interference from network devices often occurs. More often however the cause of the deterioration of energy quality is receivers. In the latter case an increasing number of installed non-linear receivers of different power play a significant role mainly operating based on the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction (voltage converters, induction furnaces, etc.). Replaced devices cause energy quality disturbances among others by creating higher harmonics significantly distorting the sine wave voltage. The obligation to care for the quality of electricity is imposed on Distributors. Energy consumers are financially responsible for the deterioration of energy quality by consumers installed at home.
.
Our specialists supported by the knowledge of scientists from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology will familiarize you with the negative impact of the receivers installed at your site on the quality of electricity. Their experience will be helpful in finding solutions to reduce this impact and achieve the right savings.
